The beautiful guitars that belongs to Claes af Geijerstam in the marvellous little exhibition called Guitars of The Stars is now dismantled and I do hope they will be seen again somewhere. Thank you Claes for this opportunity.
Today was the first day of practical work on the new exhibition: MAMMA MIA! Behind The Movie Magic.
I have written about this new exhibition before, but we have now left the planning phase and are moving in to reality. It is just so much fun to finally start adding the pieces of the exhibition-puzzle together. To see if the plans and ideas fits and works together in a natural way. There are so many ways of making an exhibition. Nothing is right or wrong and you choose yourself which way you need to go.
I definitely have my own way of doing it and the word for it is “organic”. I need to see how my pieces of storytelling will work together in a natural way while actually constructing. It feels like if I do it that way it’s easier to grasp and understand it all for any visitor. Obviously, I couldn’t do that if it was a really big exhibition. But I´m still convinced that it’s a good thing to move around pieces IRL instead of in the computer. Suddenly you see small things that you couldn’t see in the digital floorplan and then you can adjust to that.
The team:I’m happy to have my “sister in arms” Anna Söderberg back in the house. She is working with the set design and going all in, and I´m happy for that. She does an amazing work. Mimmi , our project manager and our “I can do that”-kind of person is assisting Anna with everything. Adam, our techie-supervisor is the one who makes sure all films, all sound and headphones will work and that the control system in the house is up and running. Gunnar, the main lighting designer in the house for all exhibitions, is at this point taking down all lamps from the guitar exhibition to be used again. Caroline is as usual head of the museum but also keeping track of the budget. Sophie is the museum’s coordinator of all marketing campaigns etc. Love is doing all artwork for our exhibitions.
Full speed ahead!
